ANUSHA emerged as a publishing house in July 2010 bringing out two books to be taken to the world famous Guadalajara Book Fair, Mexico to which Shukti Roy, the proprietor of ANUSHA was invited by the Government of Mexico. The books were a bilingual collection of poems originally in Spanish by Shukti Roy later transcreated into English by the poet herself and a book of Indian recipes which would pamper the taste buds of the Mexican foodies. The names of the books were La sombra de mi corazón : The Shadow of My Heart and Los manjares de la India. Both the books were well appreciated in the Guadalajara Book Fair 2010.

ANUSHA had published some important translated works from Spanish to Bengali in the following years which included folktales from Latin America and poetic creations of Elsa Cross, a renowned Mexican poet and of Juan José Santander a poet-diplomat from Argentina. From Kolkata International Book Fair of 2016, ANUSHA started taking up publication as regular task. Since then till date more than 40 books have been published by ANUSHA and 15 more are waiting to be launched in the Book Fair of 2023.

The books include translation work from the trove of English and Spanish literature into Bengali and a book of Indian stories into Spanish. The world famous book Platero y yo written by the Spanish Nobel Laureate Juan Ramón Jiménez was translated from the original Spanish text by Shukti Roy on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the publication of the book. The book has found its place in the hearts of the readers along with the library of UNESCO and Juan Ramón Jiménez Foundation. ANUSHA has also brought out three books which include well researched essays on the literary maestros of Spanish language and the fourth book of the series is being ready for the forthcoming book fair.

Apart from publishing translated literature, ANUSHA has brought out a good number of books of original fiction, poetry, travelogues, diaries, belles lettres, photo-poetry and various other literary genres and most of them have been well appreciated by the readers. Recently, Char Panchjon Bondhu written by an eminent writer Joya Mitra addressed to the young readers has received the prestigious Sahitya Academy award for the books for children.

ANUSHA has organized various cultural programmes including music, dance, story and poetry reading, drama performance and literary talks both online and offline. They have always maintained a high standard and have been well appreciated by the viewers. Young readers have also participated in many of the programmes organized by ANUSHA with their stories and poems.
